In the 16 years I’ve been living in Ireland the topic I’ve heard the most in conversations is probably the moodiness of Irish weather. The same moodiness affects all of us living on this beautiful Island. I remember back at the times when I was living in Italy, the morning would hold either a blue sky or a cloudy one, and occasionally a stormy and rainy one. Since I’m in Ireland I wake up wondering what color will the sky be each day. And I can assure you the answer is not always gray. And even when the sky is indeed gray, the brilliance of the shades of green makes it worth to look out…

Another common argument that I too, often subscribe to, is the effective number of Irish Seasons, ordinarily we mention 2 or 3 really, the 3rd one being either a proper winter or a proper summer, both often times mutually exclusive. What indeed slips our memory is that of the seasons of the world the Irish Autumnm, I’m convinced, is the most beautiful of all. especially because it changes colors every day and is not the traditional soft and warm colors we would expect from the decay of autumn leaves. Irish Autumn is rich in bright candy reds and purples and firy  yellows as well as emerald green and electric blues. Irish Autumn is a feast of colors that swirl rapidly along through the winter straigth into spring. Enjoy it, it will go away soon…
